Inspect and edit a local file without an upload

DownF keeps this diagnostic path entirely on the device. Choose a small video or audio file, check the operation and let the browser process it in temporary WebAssembly memory. No downloader worker, proxy route or remote media store receives the selected bytes.

On-device operation begins with an user-selected local file on DownF. This compatibility view then presents browser WebAssembly memory. The final fact is no server upload.

See what DownF observes during a compatibility check

DownF processes the public URL, chosen output, job state, coarse timing, byte totals, and privacy-protected operational identifiers needed to compare formats and control abuse. Prepared media is temporary, while display preferences can remain in your browser. The policy below separates server records, device-only data, contact messages, and third-party platform activity. This local page is different: the selected file is read with the browser File API and written into temporary WebAssembly memory, with no media-upload endpoint.

Honest limits for downf.io

Browser processing limits starts with slower WebAssembly work on DownF. The next view covers higher memory use. The page keeps device-aware size gates visible.

03

Separate from the downf.io download queue

To explain Queue separation, DownF separates no downloader worker from no proxy or credit use. A compatibility view gives no delay for visitors its own place.
